Having written the best-selling children’s book series in history J.K. Rowling has been on the receiving end of harsh criticism due to her well-publicized view that transwomen are not women.
Rowling’s recently published book, Troubled Blood — the fifth book in hers Cormoran Strike mystery series, which she writes under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith already has people incensed. The book is about a male serial killer who dresses as a woman.
Rowling has once argued that gender-neutral bathrooms could put cis women in grave danger, writing, “When you throw open the doors of bathrooms and changing rooms to any man who believes or feels he’s a woman … then you open the door to any and all men who wish to come inside. That is the simple truth.”
#RIPJKRowling has been trending with many wishing deatqh upon the author or supporting those who do. At the same time, a lot of people have criticized the trend and questioned the tolerance of those who claim to be fighting for a more inclusive society.
