Joy Nunieh, a former Acting Managing Director of the Interim Management Committee of Niger Delta Development Commission, has claimed to be the first and only woman to have slapped Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs.
Speaking during an interview on Arise TV on Monday, Nunieh said the incident occurred at the minister’s guest house in Abuja. She said her reaction to the alleged harassment proved her intolerance for “nonsense” as a woman from Rivers state.
The former NDDC MD has accused Akpabio of attempting to inflate the NDDC budget. Akpabio had previously reacted to the allegations made against him by Nunieh by saying the former NDDC MD has character problem.
Akpabio and Nunieh have made allegations against each other due to the activities of the senate ad hoc panel investigating the alleged mismanagement of N40 billion by the interim management committee (IMC) of the NDDC.
