Jada Pinkett Smith Describes Involvement with August Alsina As “Entanglement”

Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith had thought they’d “never make it back.” The couple who has been married since 1997 came together for a special Friday edition of Pinkett Smith’s “Red Table Talk” show on Facebook Watch to tell their side of the controversy about her relationship with singer August Alsina.

The superstar couple claimed they “were going through a very difficult time” and had separated when Pinkett Smith began a romantic relationship with the 27-year-old singer.

During their “Red Table Talk” chat Smith steered his wife to clarify what her relationship had been with Alsina to which Pinkett Smith responded, “I got into an entanglement with August,”

Alsina has said in a recent interview that he had been involved in a romantic relationship with Pinkett Smith.

During the interview with radio host Angela Yee, he claimed, “I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation…due to the transformation from their marriage to (a) life partnership that they have spoken on several times, and not involving romanticism, he gave me his blessing.”

On an edition of “Red Table Talk” Facebook show in July 2020 when Jada had Will on, they confirmed that years ago when their marriage hit a rough patch, she had a romantic relationship with singer August Alsina. According to Pinkett Smith, the relationship with Alsina ended and she reconciled with her husband. Now, she claims they have gotten to a place of “unconditional love.”

Alsina claimed to have lost money and relationships due to rumors that he had been involved with Pinkett Smith.

While the actress and her husband have long been suspected of having an open marriage, the couple has denied this, saying their marriage is not traditional but indeed a “life partnership.”
