Most people would agree that it is important to prioritize – major on the majors and settle the less important in good time. The fact is that no one has driven it in that procrastination can make the less important tasks of life a burden.
The problem with focusing primarily on priority tasks is that since they’re the most important things in life, they also take longer to complete, and extra effort to accomplish. It is rather unfortunate that there is no end to them. As you are nipping one in the bud, another is sprouting up like corn in the rainy season.
It can be so painful that before you are done, you may have to answer to not being able to meet up with certain responsibilities, as the case may be. And guess what? Life has a way of rewarding you for non-performance. So, instead of majoring on the most important at the expense of the least prioritized, why not do a little of shuffling? Slot in some less important tasks into the agenda – with that you can be assured that no part of the work suffers, at least at face value. Little breaks in between, just to catch some breath, may not be a bad idea. After all, variety is the spice of life!
